Called Ed on recommendation from a neighbor to have him take a look at a leak issue we were having. He and his crew showed up promptly and had the leak fixed in a matter of minutes. He wouldn't accept any payment and took the time to take a look at the overall condition of the roof which is about 20 years old. He didn't think anything needed to be done for the next couple of years, I appreciated his input and honesty. Suffice it to say he will be my first call when it is time for replacement. Would deflinely recommend him!

Ed Brown and his crew at Chittenden Builders replaced an old leaking corrugated metal roof on our large garage/barn in Bridport just before Thanksgiving. The new roof is a heavy guage standing seam metal roof which Ed tells me will last for 40 years! Hooray! The Chittenden Builders crew did a great job...from the first email and first telephone calls which hammered out the details of the scope of work to the final clean-up and finished product. It looks great and we are very happy with the work done in a timely and professional manner by the crew. Thanks Ed!!

There ARE good people in the world! Went off the road on Woods Hollow, luckily I was stopped by a pile of snow only 6" from a tree. One truck passed (?) One truck stopped, no chain. Third time's the charm. Edward Brown of Chittenden Builders stopped with a few friends as did another Ed. Both happen to be EJHS alums! Gotta love Vermonters with big trucks and kind hearts! I wanted to thank Mr. Brown and the team at Chittenden Builders for completing the repairs to my leaky porch roof.
Before I contacted Mr. Brown at 1-800-New-Roof I was concerned that a recent roof leak may create a significant amount of damage to the interior of the kitchen throughout the winter and especially the spring months as the snow melts. Mr. Brown came over later that evening to meet with me and view the area of concern on my roof. I explained that this was something my husband had always taken care of in the past and that my children all lived out of state so I was concerned it would get worse throughout the winter.
Mr. Brown and his crew were able to locate the place where the roof was leaking and fix the problem within 15 minutes. It turned out to be a piece of flashing that had possibly bent because of high winds. The guys bent the flashing back into place and applied a sealant to hold it in place and reduce the possibility of any water being able to enter this spot again.

Prior to Speaking with Mr. Brown I had two other roofing companies come to look at this earlier in the week. One of the roofing companies was unable to determine the cause of the leak and suggested I replace the whole lower roof. The other roof company said they could come back and fix the damage at a minimum charge of a half a days labor for two men plus materials at an estimated $800 charge. I almost agreed, but then decided to get one more opinion. This was when I contacted Mr. Brown at Chittenden Builders.

After they completed the work on my roof I went to get my check book and asked them how much I owed them. Mr. Brown said not to worry about it there would be no charge. I attempted once again to compensate him for his time and gas for making the trip. Mr. Brown suggested this was something my husband would have done himself in minutes if he were still with us today, that it was his pleasure to have fixed this for me, and if I had any more problems to give him a call.

I would like to thank the group of guys from Chittenden Builders who stopped with Mr. Brown and helped him fix the leak. The guys said they were on their way home from work and they were happy to help.

I would like to provide this review as a letter of recommendation for Chittenden Builders.
We live out of state so it is sometimes difficult to obtain dependable assistance when certain situations arise at our property.
We are fortunate enough to have known Ed Brown for many years as he was one of our sons childhood friends. We recently had a long term tenant move from one of our properties in the middle of winter which is a difficult time to rent.
When the ad ran we received a new tenant within days under the conditions that the home was renovated as agreed upon and ready for a January 15th move in date. This of course only allowed a 10 day window to complete these renovations.
We hired Chittenden Builders to complete this project. They worked all week and through the weekend to complete the project ahead of schedule. We are pleased with the outcome and our new tenants were also very happy as well.
